The European Parliament, council and the European commission reached an agreement on the Cybersecurity Act in December of 2018. The act allows the EU Cybersecurity Agency, ENISA (European Union Agency for Network and Information and Security) to better assist Member States of the EU with response to cyberattacks.
After a visit to the US from Chinese president Xi Jingping in September of 2015, the two countries come to a cybersecurity agreement and ceasefire. The United States and China agreed on having timely responses to requests for information and assistance regarding malicious cyber activies, they also came to an agreement that neither country would knowingly conduct or support theft of intellectual property. Both sides also agree to establish a dialogue on fighting cybercrime.
A convention in 2001 that aimed to combat cybercrime, including the infringement of copyrights, computer-related fraud, child pornography and network security violations. The convention included procedures for responses, such as computer network searches and interception. The objective was to create a common criminal policy to protect society against cybercrime by the adoption of approriate legislation and international cooperation. The convention also included Treaty 189, which covered racist or xenophobic propaganda. It was the first international treaty regarding cybercrime, and it has since then been ratified by 63 countries.
